Sewing Camp

Remember how I told you I was starting a Summer Sewing Camp.

It started last week. And I think it was a success. The girls went home with 4 sewn and completed projects. A headband, book bag, pillowcase, and stuffed fabric bird. I loved their enthusiasm and excitement about sewing. They were so proud to see their projects being completed.

Aren't they cute?!

We said Good-bye

On Sunday we had dinner at my sister Annie's house. It was a good-bye dinner to my bro and his family.

We also had a little ice cream party. Why are sprinkles on ice cream so fun?

kleenex plz

I'm just sad. okay.

sad that my brother and his cute family are moving.

across the country.

to Virginia.

I mean, I'm real excited to visit them, and I'm excited for this stage in their life, but I just want them close by. I'm being selfish, I know. I've just loved living near my brother and his family for the past year. It's been so fun to get close to them and be around those cute kids.

I think I need to plan a trip to Virginia this Fall!

I miss them already!

The Make Lounge

So I'm kinda obsessed with this...
I found this via Decor8. It's called The Make Lounge and it's in London. It's a place for people to create. There are workshops and classes of a wide variety. The place looks so inviting and creative. I was reading class descriptions and wanted to sign right up. I started teaching my sewing classes this week and love it but now I want to start this...right here in Utah!

1 dress 365 days

I know, I know...this has been blogged about everywhere but I just had to post it. I love this concept. This girl has pledged to wear 1 dress for 365 days to exercise sustainable fashion. She takes a picture each day and posts it. I love the way she mixes it up and plays with layers and accessories. So inspiring!

Take a lookie. It's called The Uniform Project.

Here are some of my favorites so far.

backyard

I love Seattle in the Summer. I especially love hanging out in my parents backyard. My mom has a gorgeous garden and I couldn't help but take pictures of it all. Fruits and vegetables growing everywhere! And they are so so tasty.
