scream and shout

Last night we made the trek to SLC to see Ghostland Observatory. It was my 3rd time seeing them and it won't be my last. They put on an amazing show every time. This show felt more intimate. And by intimate I mean the lead singer (Aaron) stage dove and his Booty was on my face. Yep. I felt cool! Maggie, Willard, Bethany and I fought our way to the front. The VERY front. And it was incredible. During the last song Willard looks at me and says "get on stage." I was hesitant because of the stage crew, but what the heck so I did it and I danced my heart out. Maggie and Willard soon joined me! I wish I had pictures to prove how cool I am but I guess you'll just have to believe me.

"You're too young to Quilt!" Part Two

Saturday morning Mary, (her aunt) Kathy, and I were able to sneak away from the Quilt market to go to Saturday Market in downtown Portland. It as a blazing 95 degrees outside and the streets were flooding with people walking through the market. We enjoyed doing a little shopping...and people watching. And for lunch I got a tasty Greek Gyro. Yum yum. I loved going to downtown Portland.


And this moment may have been my favorite moment of Quilt Market. Meeting Amy Butler! Mary made fun of me because I was so star struck. Amy is so beautiful and sweet. Her booth was gorgeous...of course. I am really really excited about her new Solids line. And I can't wait to purchase her new book Little Stitches. It is her new sewing book and has projects to make for kids. I am hoping she also comes out with a pattern for that darling dress she is wearing. I told her how much loved it and she said that she was coming up with a pattern for it. Yay!

It was a marvelous weekend. I am crossing my fingers that I'll get to go to Houston in October for Fall Market. Mary and I already have plans of starting a business together. We kept getting comments like "you're to young to quilt." Ha Ha. And with that said I need to go get working on my next quilt!

International Quilt Market aka: Best Weekend Ever - Part 1

Where do I begin? How can I even express in words how much fun I had this last weekend at the Spring Quilt Market. I had a blast. Mary and I flew into Portland on Thursday morning. We arrived and got right to work. We spent the entire day setting up the booth with Mary's mom Jan (The Apron Lady), her sister Kathy, and Amy (a quilt shop owner in Rigby, ID). At 8pm sample spree started. It was crazy! Ladies lined up at 1pm! At 8 they rushed the doors and shopped shopped shopped. I ran around with Mary before the doors and bought fabric and patterns for wholesale price! I was so excited. From 8-10:30 we sold aprons and apron patterns galore. The aprons got a great reaction.
On Friday the Quilt Market began. Doors opened at 9:30am. We sat in the booth a lot of the day and talked to quilt shop owners about the aprons. The convention center is HUGE. I would get up and roam and see as many booths as I could. It is amazing. On the first day of market I met Anna Maria Horner, Joel Dewberry, Tina Givens, Valori Wells, and Liesel from Oliver + S, and Heather Ross. I am so inspired by all of them. Their booths were Gorgeous! I was totally star struck but tried my best to play it 'cool.'

I met Heather Ross! She is so cute! I love love love her fabric. I bought her rabbits and race cars line. Awesome stuff. I really like her Mermaid line and I am super super excited for her book (she showed me the thumbnails!) it looks so cool and she is also starting to make clothing patterns. YAY!
For those of you who sew you may recognize this lady. It's Nancy from the show Sewing with Nancy. She also has a lot of sewing books. We used to watch her instructional videos in my sewing class.

Anna Maria is the coolest. She is super down to earth and real. Her booth was so bright and beautiful. I love her new line and I'm excited for her new book to come out. Plus she is Tall!
Joel Dewberry! I love his fabric. He was so nice. He asked me what I like about his fabric and which of his new lines I liked the best. We had a nice chat.

Every night we would take the train to downtown Portland. I LOVE Portland. It is such a fun city.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (yesterday) Lindsey!

I am so lucky to have such an awesome sister-in-law. She is so fun to be around. I am so inspired by her because she succeeds in everything she does. She's athletic, smart, creative, funny, beautiful, and interesting. Plus she's a great mom and wife.

So this is what has been keeping me busy for the last few days. I've been making aprons for The Apron Lady! They are turning out really cute.

At 4:00pm Mary and I are hitting the road. We are driving to Boise then flying to Portland for the PORTLAND QUILT MARKET. I'm beyond excited! I'm pretty exhausted from sewing aprons and trying to get homework done and turned in but it is all worth it.

Now I am off to class.

Friday we got tickets to the JAZZ LAKER game. We got a big group together and cruised down to SLC. It was a blast! Little did I know that my older sister and her husband were there too. I wish I could have seen them.

We were pumped to get Free Tshirts. haha. Go Jazz!

Jane sang Tina Turner's "Proud Mary." It was hilarious. The whole bar was watching her dance moves. A couple of ladies even started singing back up.

Thursday Night is Karaoke night at a Bar in Idaho Falls. A big group of us went to Snake Bit (our Favorite Restaurant) and then to the Karaoke bar. We got our Shirley Temples and Roy Rogers for a dollar and then hit the floor. It was so much fun! And I must say that the crowd there really loved us. We may just make this a Thursday night tradition.
