I think they look a lot a like!

Happy Birthday Annie! I am so happy we could help you celebrate!
We missed Jen! and our parents! It would have been fun to have everyone there.

1:00PM in SLC

One o'clock on the dot I take my lunch break. It may be my favorite hour of the day. SLC was a blazin 75 degrees and I was pumped. When it's warm enough (like today was) I head straight to Temple Square to eat my lunch, people watch, witness proposals and weddings, and catch some rays. It's a glorious hour.

Look at them trees. They're blossoming! Don't you just love this time of year?!

In case you were wondering this is where I work...

Hittin' the Road

I love this fashion spread in Teen Vogue. I love the All American feel, the mixed plaids, and the thick hair in a braid. It feels so feminine and so natural.

Enjoy!

We be Jammin'

Saturday at Costco I bought myself a flat of strawberries. I just couldn't resist. They all looked so perfect and red and delicious. It was a strawberry fest at my house...Saturday night I made strawberry jam! Nothing beats homemade jam. And Sunday Jane and I made Strawberry muffins for breakfast. Oh man they are good. Check out those here.
I hope you've been enjoying strawberry season too!

For Easter Jane and I made our roommates Easter Buckets. We filled the buckets with a few goodies like candy, Hello Kity stickers, bubbles, notebook, and a magazine.

Saturday Sushi!

Saturday Night I went out for sushi with some of my best girlfriends. We found a fun little Sushi joint in the heart of SLC called I Love Sushi. And it was very yummy. Our friend Bethany was in town from AZ. We loved having her visit!

I recommend you give I Love Sushi a try. Check them out here.

Broccoli and Bow Ties

I love this dish. So yum! I like to make a batch of it for dinner and then there is enough for lunch the next day. It's good cold or hot.

Broccoli and Bow Ties
Barefoot Contessa

Kosher salt
8 cups Broccoli Florets (4 heads)
1/2 pound farfalle (bow tie pasta)
2 tbls unsalted butter
2 tbls olive oil
1 tsp minced garlic
zest of 1 lemon
1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
1 tbls freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 c toasted pignoli (pine) nuts
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, optional

Cook broccoli for 3 minutes in a larg pot of boiling salted water. Remove broccoli from the water with a slotted spoon or sieve. Place in a large bowl and set aside.

In the same water, cook the bow-tie pasta accourding to the package directions, about 12 minutes. Drain well and add to the broccoli.

Meanwhile, in a small saute pan, heat the butter and oil and cook the garlic and lemon zest over med-low heat for 1 minute. Off the heat, add 2 tsp, salt, the pepper, and lemon juice and pour this over the broccoli and pasta. Toss well. Season to taste, sprinkle with pine nuts and cheese, and serve.

This Weekend I...

I spent the weekend watching General Conference. It was such a lovely weekend! Jane hooked us up with tickets to the Saturday morning session. I love being in the Conference center. I love seeing the prophet, I love hearing the Mormon tabernacle choir Live, I love seeing thousand of people gather in one place to be uplifted by our church leaders.

I'm digging BBW Spring 09 collection. Yum! So simple and fresh! I'm also digging this chicks hair.

For those of you that sew have you used her patterns? Do! Because they are great. I own both of her books and a bunch of patterns and love them. I even made a pair of jeans using her pattern. They are simple and well written.
