Heart Attack

I woke up on Valentine's day to a heart attack at my front door. Also, donuts!, flowers, and a box of candy.
Those Bourne's go above and beyond to make a girl feel special. My sister said the kids were so excited to heart attack me they could hardly sleep the night before. It made my day.

video footage (please excuse the few pieces of trash. opps!)

Class is in session: The Ancients

I'm taking a Fashion Trends and Cultural Costumes class. It's basically a history class with a big focus on what people were wearing! How interesting, huh?! We have a notebook assignment where we have to find examples of the clothing we study. We also have to find modern adaptations of specific pieces. I was surprised how easy it was. I thought I'd share tidbits of what I've learned and modern adaptations that I've found.

Egypt Costume (2900-1090 BC): Civilization was highly developed and sophisticated. They lived in nice homes and ate a variety of foods. They were very clean and had good health. Men and women were equals.
Their bodies were considered beautiful and nakedness was acceptable. The fabric they used was very sheer.

Greek Costume (1600-146 BC): Athens was center of Western Civilization art, culture, and fashion. Greeks were very focused on beauty, the body, and physical perfection. Their homes had exercise rooms! Screen shot 2012-02-06 at 5.55.28 PM
Roman Costume (750BC - 476 AD): Romans were conquerors and ruled most of the known world. They were highly class conscious. Women were Not citizens of Rome.

Back to School

I started school in January. I'm going to a local community college to get a certificate in Visual Merchandising. It's so weird/crazy/cool to be back in school. It's been a month and I am very pleased. I'm working part time at my job, taking 4 classes throughout the week and a couple nights a week I work at Anthro. (that makes it sound busier then I actually am. fyi)
You guys, I have home work. It's so weird!

Feast Your Eyes

I'll blame it on the weekend trip to Mexico. But I'm ready for Spring...
