tied up in string

Jane and I made gingerbread men a couple weeks ago. They are so easy to make and so darn tasty. It was my first time making gingerbread so I am very proud of myself. We also hoped to attempt to make a gingerbread house from scratch. We'll see if that happens.

We dipped there legs in chocolate!

We found little containers at our favorite Japanese Dollar Store. And we sent them to spread some Christmas cheer!
This week we made packages for my 10 nieces and nephews. We will spend Christmas in St. George, UT so when the kiddos arrive we will give them this little gift. I think they will like it.

Christmas Cooking Class

My mom teaches a cooking class once a month or so. On Saturday we had a Christmas themed cooking class at our house. We learned how to make Christmas Braid, Yule Log Cake, wassail, and a ham and egg dish. Oh boy it was delish. The Christmas braid has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. We would bring them to friends and neighbors on Christmas eve. In fact it then became part of their Christmas traditions. I'm happy to have officially learned how to make these things so that I can then do them on my own some day.

Check out my mom's cooking class blog here. It is still under the works but she will post the recipes taught and give tips.

that's a wrap

It snowed last night! It started snowing last night when I was working. I work downtown at Anthropologie and it just felt magical for a second. There were lots of people walking the streets shopping, going to dinner, taking pictures by the big christmas tree. Love it! What a fun time of year. And today we had our Christmas program at my singles ward in Seattle today. It was lovely. Great music and a sweet talk given by my dad. I'm really enjoying the Christmas season. I've been helping my mom wrap christmas gifts and I just love it. Above is a mosaic I made of gift wrapping inspiration...thanks to Martha Stewart, Creature Comforts, and Design Sponge.

pretty pretty

We have been adding new things to etsy almost everyday! Our jewelry boxes have already been sold but we will be adding more soon. Below are some of the newest additions to 143!

1. Everyday Earrings. We love how simple they are. They are those earrings that you will want to wear all the time! Light, Simple, Pretty!
2. More Everyday Earrings. 2 for $20
3. I love this lamp! We bought it vintage and painted the wood and metal white (the middle part is ceramic). It really looks great with a varity of lamp shades!

4. Monogram pillows. I'm a sucker for monogram anything! I have a K pillow on my bed and love it! If you want me to customize one for you just let me know! I will be putting up more letters soon.

Williams-Sonoma Favorites

I'm here to spread some holiday cheer! Jane and I were at the mall today (i hate the mall by the way) and we always like to wonder through Williams-Sonoma. I looooooove their hot apple cider that they have to sample. And below are some other favorites.

Chocolate and Peppermint....a match made in heaven.

Thick and yummy!

Again I'm loving the peppermint and chocolate...what pretty candies.

Now this is just cute! A snow flake pancake turner. How festive!

Have you been listening to Christmas music non stop like me? I love it!
One of my families favorite Christmas albums is The Roches We Three Kings. It is so cheery and fun!

Merry Christmas!

"It's the Holiday Season"

What a great time of year! I haven't been home for the pre-Christmas time since high school so it is fun to help decorate the house and see the ornaments and holiday trim that I love.

Santa collection.
Creche tree! I really love this. It is hard to tell in the picture but each level of the tree has a different creche that my mom or grandma have collected from around the world. It is really beautiful!

A wooden creche from Mexico.
I especially love these pictures of my parents with Santa. This one of my dad and his little brother was taken in 1952. My dad is Cute! I love that face.
And here is Santa and my mom. I am not sure what year it was taken but I love that they are looking at each other in the eyes!
