Halloween was a blizast. It always is. I love this holiday. My sisters, Egan and Jane, and friends, Rebecca and Kimberly, hit up 3 different parties in SLC. It was a Halloween to remember. I just love the dressing up part, that's all I need...oh and a lil dancing too.

Around 5:30 ish we went to my sisters house to enjoy homemade soups, rolls, salads and more before the trick or treating began. It is so fun to be around kids on holidays. I love their excitement. I loved seeing all the trick or treaters walking from door to door. It was a warm night too (warm for October 31st). My twinner and I left soon after the trick or treating got started. We had to get ready to Party all night long. And party we DID. I'll show you pics in the next post!!!!

The Quilt Shoppe

I, along with my sister Jane, and friends Kimberly, and Willard made a trip up to Rexburg, ID this last weekend. The weekend went by too fast. I didn't get to visit all my old friends but I did have a Blast! I seriously wanted to cry when we got off the exit to Rexburg. I love that place. I spent 5 years there (best 5 years of my life...so far). When we arrived we met up with Sarah and Maggie got dinner at Craigos (a rexburg original), hit up a dance party (of course we did), visited old friends, drank hot chocolate, and chatted the night away. Saturday we made pumpkin pancakes, toured campus (believe it or not, lots has changed since July), visited my favorite Quilt Shoppe in Rigby, ate lunch at Pita Pit, went do DI, made muffins, caught up with old friends, ate dinner at Teton Thai (my favorite place to eat in Rexburg). Saturday night friends came over and we made carmel apples. It was as if I never left. Now I miss that place even more.

Read this!

Have you read any of Malcolm Caldwell's books or essays? If not, I highly recommend them. It was a year or so a go in a college English class that I first read a excerpt from his book The Tipping Point. I loved it. My parents then started reading his books and we would have great discussions about them. When I was home in the winter I listened to his book Blink on my ipod to and from work. (FYI they are great books to listen to...I like hearing his voice). Yesterday I saw somewhere that he has a new book out called Outliers.

Malcolm Gladwell was born in England and raised in Canada. He now lives in New York and writes for the New Yorker magazine.
Tipping Point is a book about change. He asks and examines questions like: "why did crime drop so dramatically in New York City in the mid-1990's? How does a novel written by an unknown author end up as national bestseller? Why do teens smoke in greater and greater numbers, when every single person in the country knows that cigarettes kill? Why is word-of-mouth so powerful? What makes TV shows like Sesame Street so good at teaching kids how to read?"

The Tipping Point is an examination of the social epidemics that surround us.
"Blink" is a book about the kind of thinking that happens in the blink of an eye. So interesting! He explains that in the first two seconds some really powerful and important conclusions can be made.
