is halloween really next week?

how did this month happen so fast? i haven't even carved a pumpkin. but i DID make owl cupcakes with these cuties...
(and i must say these kids in soccer uniforms KILL me!)
i saw the idea here
how cute are they? i used junior mints for the eyes but realized i shoulda used the brown reeses pieces. oh well. we have big eyes in the family... so it's fitting.

you guys should make them. they were such a hit.

party like a 9 year old

the birthday boy:

s'more bar.
scavenger hunt.

a mini s'more mix. golden grahams, chocolate chips, mini marshmellows.

my nephew tanner turned 9 last week. i helped my sister in the party planning ... though she did all the work. it was such a fun party. my sister planned a scavenger hunt that had them running all over the beach with clues and it ended with a treasure box full of goods. The boys went crazy for parachute men, glow sticks and gold coins. They played games on the beach like wiffle ball and capture the flag. Dinner was roasted hot dogs, grapes, veggies, and juice boxes.
the best part was the s'more bar. but we realized that 9 year olds don't really know how to properly roast a marshmellow. but oh boy they love fire!

it was perfect. really truly perfect

the wedding last night for shane and ashley (egan's friends) was perfect. it was at this incredible house in Thousand Oaks. the weather was foggy and misty and so cozy and romantic.
aaaaaand lets just say egan was the star of the dance floor. fancy foot work.

LA

egan was in town this weekend for a friends wedding. saturday we spent the day in LA. i shopped while egan was at the temple for the wedding. afterwards we had lunch at The Ivy with a group of friends. Great food great ambiance. (thanks tiff for the recommendation!) We also hit up Diddy Riese. those cookies are major. it was fun cruising the city with egan. i miss her so much. move here dang it!

it's fall here but you wouldn't know it...

cause it feels like summer. but i am not complaining. it's gorgeous!
i tried to ring in the new season by making a harvest dinner of sorts for my roommates.
the menu:
spaghetti squash with tomato sauce
chicken sausages (from trader joes)
pumpkin muffins
string beans
apples (and carmel)
sparkling apple cider

happy fall ya'll!

(and brooklyn was there too. she was just topless when i was taking pictures due to a tomato sauce accident)

try to stop me...

from obsessin over her.

it's impossible.
